Entrepreneurial Law Foundation in Guangdong and Macao – Activity Highlight

Entrepreneurs will face many legal issues in operating their companies, especially when entrepreneurial need to integrate into the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. They must also face differences in legal systems in various regions. Therefore, entrepreneurs must understand and abide by relevant laws and regulations to ensure that their interests and entrepreneurial projects can operate in an orderly manner.

The Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship organized the “Entrepreneurship Law Foundation in Guangdong and Macao” course. The course aims to provide legal support for UM students who are interested in starting a business or started a business and to popularize the necessary legal knowledge required for starting a business. The course was held on every Wednesday afternoon from October 14th to November 25th, 2020. The course attracted over 30 UM students to participate in the 7 training sessions with 21 hours of training, through the coexistence of theory and practice, students have a clearer understanding of the laws related to entrepreneurship in Guangdong and Macao.

The “Entrepreneurship Law Foundation in Guangdong and Macao” course Finished Successfully

“Entrepreneurship Law Foundation in Guangdong and Macao” was taught by lawyers that are familiar with the civil and commercial law in Macau and Mainland China, including lawyer Mr. Brain Cheang, Ms. Rosita Vong, Mr. Joaquim Vong and Ms. Wong On Man. The course content covered the establishment of companies in Guangdong and Macao, the company’s articles of association and shareholding structure, the intellectual property, patent, commercial registration and registration systems of the two places, labor laws, the civil and commercial legal system for entrepreneurship, and the judicial system for commercial disputes (including litigation disputes) ヽMediation and arbitration, etc.
