On June 18th, 2024, Wynn Macau, in collaboration with the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) of the University of Macau (UM) and with the support of the Centre for Continuing Education (CCE), successfully hosted the “Macao SME Training Series – UM x Wynn Macau TCM & Big-Health Industry Study Tour” at UM.
The CIE aims to form a mechanism for the cultivation of innovative talents to promote the development of Macau’s industries and open up a broad space for the growth and career development of young people in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area, with the aim to create “Proposal” for the youth, “Planning” for Macau, and “Transcript” for the Greater Bay Area.
Concurrently, Wynn arranged seminars and training sessions on the “M-Mark” certification, helping the local SMEs to improve manufacturing and management performances, increase overall competitiveness, and support the appropriate diversified development of Macau’s economy. This alignment of goals led to a successful event that embodied beneficial collaboration between universities and enterprises, contributing to Macau’s diverse economic development.
Distinguished guests attending the event included: Ms. Linda Chen, the President, Vice Chairman, and Executive Director of Wynn Macau Limited; Prof. Elaine Lai Han LEUNG, Head of Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship of the University of Macau; Dr. Barry Ip, Vice President of Learning & Advancement for Wynn Palace and Wynn Macau; Prof. Matthew Ting-Chi LIU, Director of the Centre for Continuing Education of the University of Macau; Ms. Jasmine Cheong, Vice President of Community and Government Relations for Wynn Macau and Wynn Palace;
Mr. Alan Kin Va Choi, President of Association of Macao Pharmaceutic Products Manufacturer,Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Industrial Association of Macau, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Guangdong and Macao Federation of Industry and Commerce;Ms. Kimberly Tan, Executive Director of Procurement of Wynn Palace and Wynn Macau; and Mr. Lao Tai Hang, President of Pharmacist Association of Macao, Founder and Technical Development Director of Macau-Union Pharmaceutical Limited; also, the event attracted almost over 30 local SMEs.
The event was divided into two parts: seminar and a tour of the CIE. In the first part involved a seminar delivered by the Mr. Alan Kin Va Choi, on the topic of “The Business Positioning and Brand Building of Traditional Chinese Medicine Health Products”. The second part included an introduction to CIE incubation services and a tour of National Co-working Space. Participants also had the unique opportunity to visit the Aromatherapy Exploration Hall and experience the full process of customizing aroma bags and essential oils.
This successful meeting not only did the event provide participants with invaluable insights into traditional Chinese medicine and health products, but it also encouraged the exploration of new possibilities for Macau’s diverse economic development through innovation and entrepreneurship, actively supporting Macau SAR government’s “1+4” strategy.
