On January 10, the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) of the University of Macau (UM) welcomed Prof. Linda Xiaoyun CHEN, the Instructor of the Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) program, and the 2024 cohort of EMBA students for a visit. The group toured the National Co-working Space and Hap On Aromatherapy Exploration Hall, engaging in discussions with startup representatives about innovation in the Greater Bay Area, investment strategies, and industry prospects.
The EMBA program is a core component of the executive education offered by the Faculty of Business Administration (FBA). This visit was an integral part of the course of the program. The students come from various industries across the country, including high-tech, finance and accounting, cultural tourism, medical and pharmaceutical, catering management, and construction engineering, each being a leader in their respective fields.
The Centre also invited representatives from its incubated companies to share their entrepreneurial journeys and achievements, providing the participants with a deeper understanding of UM’s efforts in transforming academic research into practical applications. The EMBA students also shared their own entrepreneurial experiences and challenges, discussing current market trends and future development directions.
This event fostered collaboration between the CIE and the FBA, aiming to cultivate talent that translates research into practical applications. In the future, the Centre welcomes EMBA students to embark on their entrepreneurial journeys and become incubated companies, contributing to the innovation and entrepreneurship development of the UM.
