– Sustainable Production and Consumption

Zhejiang University 2024 SDG Global Summer School – Sustainable Production and Consumption will take place from July 22 to August 4 on campus. Zhejiang University welcomes students from around the world to the Global Summer School for academic learning and cultural experience opportunities. This two-week program will allow undergraduate and graduate students to take credit-bearing courses themed on SDGs under the mentorship of prestigious professors from ZJU and partner universities.

About the Program

The course takes place over 48 hours split over three modules followed by a group presentation evaluation.

Specifically, after attending this course, you will be able to

  • Understand and explain the tensions between environmental sustainability and other objectives in modern business contexts
  • Identify current and potential future solutions and opportunities to achieve win-win outcomes
  • Apply the principles and practices of sustainable management across strategy, marketing, operations, finance, and other key functions
  • Develop and communicate specific initiatives to improve the sustainability of production and consumption systems in their particular contexts

To help you reach these learning objectives, we structure and provide a diverse array of sessions that consider sustainable production and consumption systems from multiple angles and use different learning approaches. These sessions are delivered by experts with significant academic and industrial experience working at the cutting edge of sustainability and management.

Program Fee

  • The program fees (application fee, tuition, accommodation, visits, and activities) are exempted.
  • Subject to assessment and undertaking, the University of Macau will sponsor the transportation expenses and travel insurance.

**Warm reminder

  • Participants are responsible for their expenses such as visa fees, extra-activities fees, and the optional Day Return Weekend, etc.
  • The program will cover the attendee’s accommodation from July 22 to August 4, 2024.

1. Eligibility

UM students with priority to:

  • Local students with proficiency in English language skills.
  • Priority will be given to the members of the CIE incubation teams.  

    (**The program will be conducted in English.)

4. How to apply

Applicants shall provide the following documents and send them to: ICI.Innovation@um.edu.mo

  • Your resumé, including your educational and professional experiences, interests, and other information;
  • A scanned copy of Mainland Permit （回鄉證）
  • A digital copy of your passport-sized photo

5. Assessment

Short-listed applicants shall attend an interview which the date will be held on 7 March 2024.

6. Undertaking

Students who are nominated are required to submit a reflection paper on this program which is no shorter than 2 pages (single-lined).
