participated in the “Macau International Startup Week 2019”
“Macau International Startup Week 2019 (MIS-Week)” is Macau’s entrepreneur-based exhibition and large-scale sharing platform. This exhibition has been held annually for three year. The date for this exhibition is from September 5th to 7th in Venetian Macau Cotai Expo Hall C. University of Macau kept supporting this exhibition as usual and exhibited eleven incubation projects which were the second batch of incubation projects in Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. By participating in this activity, the entrepreneurial projects were expected to look for business cooperation, business expansion and exchanging experiences with the present founders of enterprise and guests to facilitate the interaction between Macau local entrepreneur and international innovation and entrepreneurship groups.
There were 80 newly established enterprises and start-ups, 11 individual sharing sessions, 5 large-scale sharing sessions, and 7 exhibition activities included in this activity. As Macau serves as the platform for trade and economic cooperation between China and the Portuguese-speaking countries, as well as a member of the Greater Bay Area, the organizer provided a series of activities such as special roadshow for science and technology entrepreneur from Portuguese-speaking countries, innovation and entrepreneurship seminar for Chinese and Portuguese youth, and Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area youth forum. These activities were aimed to take Macau’s advantages as the platform and assist the development for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area.
Meanwhile, the 2019 Macau Youth Entrepreneurship and Innovation Competition and the Youth Entrepreneurship Project Roadshow Competition were held during the MIS-Week. “2048 Macau Limited Company”, which was one of the incubation team of Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, has won the second prize in the 2019 Macau Youth Entrepreneurship and Innovation Competition.
To strengthen the understanding and communication of Macau’s entrepreneurship and innovation platform for science and technology entrepreneurs from Portuguese-speaking countries, the Economic Bureau led a group of representatives from science and technology entrepreneurs from Portuguese-speaking countries to visit the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and exchanged ideas with representatives of centre’s incubation teams on September 6th.
