The Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (hereinafter referred to as the ‘CIE’) of UM devotes to support the students, staff and alumni of the university to transform their innovative ideas with commercial potential into entrepreneurial projects. In 2019, CIE received approval to join China’s national system of co-working space. The mission of CIE is to assist start-ups to “enter the society” and generate economic effects, connecting people, technology and industry.

Position of Research Assistant (Short-term)

Responsibilities

  • Assist in software implementation, data collection and other research works related to entrepreneurship and technology commercialization;
  • Assist in event planning and organization, e.g. holding seminars, talks, training course, competition;
  • Provide support to facilitate CIE daily operations and administration;
  • Assist in preparation of proposals, reports, correspondences and relevant supporting information;
  • Assist in other duties to support the CIE;

Qualifications

  • Holder of Macau ID;
  • Holder of Bachelor degree or above. Preferably in background of science and engineering, cross-disciplinary, financial accounting or related disciplines;
  • Relevant research or working experience, or familiar with entrepreneurial work would be an advantage;
  • Strong sense of responsibility, good interpersonal skills, proactive, and detail-oriented;
  • Good command of written and spoken Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin) and English;
  • Fresh graduates are welcome.

The selected candidate is expected to assume duty as soon as possible. Initial appointment is until 31  December 2022 with a possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and mutual agreement.

Remuneration

A taxable monthly remuneration starting from MOP 15,000 will be commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% – 7% after various discretionary exemptions.
