Law Foundation for Innovation and Entrepreneurial
in Guangdong and Macao
Entrepreneurs are bound to face many legal issues in operating their commercial enterprises, especially when integrating entrepreneurial projects into the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area development. They must also face differences in legal systems in various regions. Therefore, entrepreneurs must understand and abide by relevant laws and regulations to ensure that their own interests and their entrepreneurial projects can operate in an orderly manner.
Law Foundation for Innovation and Entrepreneurial in Guangdong and Macao organized by the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship of the University of Macau aims to provide legal entrepreneurial support and popularize the necessary legal knowledge to the UM students, alumni, and staff who have entrepreneurial intentions. The course mainly focuses on the selected legal topics and issues in Guangdong Province and Macau that need to be paid attention to and provide the opportunity to them to fit out themselves with sufficient preparation for the road of entrepreneurship.

Date: 2023/02/15 to 2023/04/19 (exclude 03/15 and 04/15, 7 classes in total)
Time: 15:00-17:00 (every Wednesday)

Target audience:
- Incubation teams members and representatives that applied for the incubation program are priority;
- All UM students with entrepreneurial intentions
Fee: Free (Deposit of MOP 200 will be charged)
Venue: Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, UM Guest House, N1 1st floor
Language: Mandarin and Cantonese (mainly in Mandarin)

Deposit submission and by election list: 10/02/2023 to 14/02/2023
Certificate: The Centre will issue certificates for students who completed 80% attendance and meet the course requirement.
Deposit: After the list announcement, the selected students need to pay the deposit to the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, those who did not pay the deposit will be automatically seem as giving up the quota. The deposit of MOP200 will be refunded upon completing 80% attendance.
◊ Course Features
The course instructors are lawyers who have relevant legal experiences and are familiar with the field of civil and commercial law. The course mainly combines the legal foundation understanding of the established field, case sharing and Q&A section, and focuses on practical and entrepreneurial examples. The Centre hopes to take this opportunity to let students understand the legal difficulties encountered when starting a business, matters needing attention when starting a business and legal handling methods, etc.; make good preparations for starting a business in the future.

The course content is mainly aimed at the necessary legal knowledge of the Greater Bay Area, especially understanding the differences in laws between Guangdong and Macao. The course focuses on entrepreneurial practices and aims to popularize the basic legal knowledge required for entrepreneurship and provide sufficient preparation for the entrepreneurial journey; the course content is mainly designed based on the legal difficulties or disputes that startups often face.
