On March 20, Fang Li, Party Secretary of the Wuxi Xishan District, led a delegation on a visit to the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) at the University of Macau (UM). The visit aimed to explore opportunities for collaboration and foster closer ties between the two entities, as well as to announce the official establishment of the Wuxi Xishan Overseas University Liaison Station – the University of Macau Station.
The delegation received a warm reception from Prof. Elaine Leung, the head of CIE, and engaged in fruitful discussions on various topics related to technology incubation, talent cultivation, and future cooperation. A consensus was reached on several comprehensive cooperation proposals, laying a solid foundation for future collaboration.
During their visit, representatives from the Wuxi District People’s Government and local young entrepreneurs had the opportunity to explore the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Incubation Office and the HAP ON Aromatherapy Exploration Hall. This immersive experience provided them with valuable insights into UM’s successful industry-academia collaboration and technology transfer initiatives.
The establishment of the Wuxi Xishan Overseas University Liaison Station – University of Macau Station signifies a collaborative effort to cultivate talents with international vision and an innovative spirit. Moving forward, Wuxi District and the University of Macau are committed to comprehensive collaboration in industry-academia-research cooperation, technology project incubation, and talent cultivation. By leveraging shared educational resources, facilitating the exchange of the universities of both cities, and promoting cooperation in education, culture, science, and innovation.
